Had a really good chat with Günseli Yalcinkaya for Dazed magazine addressing "the anti-humanist tone" versus the quirky all-too-human individuals and desires that animate machine music, and much much more besides.

For me, probably the perfect example of a catchy yet quirky pop song that could never be created by AI or computers is "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" by The Human League. Not in a million years could any kind of artificial intelligence come up with something like that track.

DeleteTalking of Human League, have you heard this by, ah, The Inhuman League? It's (in)human ingenuity clearly, but seems to almost anticipate AI (while also satirising our nostalgic desire for repetition, the stuckness of the culture)
